Meet Dr. Chin : Bio

Dr. Victor Chin, a board-certified ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, is highly regarded by both by his patients and his colleagues. He teaches and writes extensively and participates as an investigator in numerous studies to help advance patient-centered eye surgery research. He uses only the most up-to-date procedures that are proven techniques for delivering highly-personalized optimum results.

Having graduated Valedictorian of his high school class, Dr. Chin received his B.A. with High Honors in molecular biology from Princeton University. While at Princeton, he pursued Thesis Research in the field of molecular virology. He continued his training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where he received his Medical Doctorate, with Honors in Ophthalmology. He then completed his internship at Legacy Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, OR, where he gained experience in Trauma Surgery, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Critical Care. Dr. Chin completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the world renowned Tufts New England Eye Center, in Boston, MA where he worked with distinguished pioneers in retinal, corneal, and cataract surgery.

Since then, Dr. Chin has worked in private practice near Philadelphia, with offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, performing advanced cataract and lens surgery.

Dr. Chin was recruited to join Pacific Vision Institute as the full-time Director of Cataract and Lens Surgery because of his extensive experience with both simple and advanced cataract surgery techniques. Dr Chin brings with him expertise with implantable contact lenses, new technology aspheric and accommodating intraocular lenses, and various other advanced surgical tools for giving his patients the very best vision possible without the need for glasses. His level of experience is unmatched in San Francisco.

Dr. Chin has authored many papers, presentations, and book chapters, both nationally and internationally. Currently, he is publishing "Complete Patient's Guide to Cataract and Lens Surgery" to help patients understand lens-based procedures.

While some of us are lucky to have perfect vision throughout our lifetime, many are not. Impairments can be the result of problems in the way our eyes are built or in some cases, changes take place over time.
