Maria Ha, O.D.

Clinical Care Specialist

Dr. Maria Ha is a San Francisco native who devotes her practice to caring for patient with eye conditions and to doing preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing laser vision correction procedures, CK, cataract and lens surgery.

Dr. Ha graduated at the top of her class from Lowell High School, followed by a prestigious Research Fellowship in Pharmacodynamics at the UCSF School of Medicine. She then received B.A. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and B.S. in Vision Science with Honors from UC Berkeley, where she was also awarded Phi Beta Kappa. She pursued post-graduate work at Genentech, studying cell aging and apoptosis in patients with inherited retinal degenerations. Her work was rewarded with National Eye Institute Vision Research Grant - an honor awarded to the top ten percent of the applicants. Following extensive travel in China, Dr. Ha returned to the Bay Area and completed UC Berkeley School of Optometry with Beta Sigma Kappa honors.

Dr. Ha is experienced in treating and caring for patients with wide variety of eye conditions. She is an active member of the San Francisco optometric community and is committed to patient education in eye health and care.

While some of us are lucky to have perfect vision throughout our lifetime, many are not. Impairments can be the result of problems in the way our eyes are built or in some cases, changes take place over time.
